SAP and NVIDIA have expanded their partnership in order to deliver real business value from generative AI. Their aim is to incorporate AI capabilities directly into SAP ecosystem and allow businesses to more efficiently automate processes and make data-driven decisions more efficiently. In addition, this expansion addresses important concerns such as privacy and data sovereignty by keeping data local – even when using cloud solutions such as SAP BTP.

SAP will integrate NVIDIA NeMo Retriever microservices into its Joule AI copilot to securely access SAP and third-party cloud solutions such as S/4HANA Cloud, SuccessFactors and Signavio; increasing model accuracy while protecting data security.

SAP and NVIDIA’s partnership is intended to address a broad array of enterprise applications, from business process automation and augmented/virtual reality experiences, machine learning, supply chain optimization, customer support services and beyond. Through this alliance, NVIDIA brings its accelerated computing platforms, data science software and high-performance GPU memory directly into SAP ecosystem, making deployment and running of AI models and solving large data sets such as those found within Datasphere much faster and more reliably than before.

NVIDIA will further enhance their AI foundry services to enable SAP customers to build and customize generative AI solutions more easily. NVIDIA will focus on fine-tuning large language models (LLMs) used by SAP’s ABAP programming language in order to increase performance and decrease development times for customers while simultaneously using generative AI to better comprehend, explain, and optimize application logic that leads to more accurate results.

NVIDIA and SAP are exploring an approach that could further simplify digital transformation with AI-enabled solutions built on SAP BTP. This solution would enable businesses to more easily create, deploy and scale generative AI applications anywhere between cloud computing platforms or on premises systems as well as edge locations.
